RF Box

This unit provides to operators the capacity of developing, with thrust, optical networks, PON, that offers operational savings. The BOX RF is a unit capable of media converter for CATV, i.e, fiber optics to RF coax, for distribution of analog TV channels over the existing in home coaxial cabling.

ODP Box 24

The ODP Box (Optical Distribution Point) is an infrastructure component designed for GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) networks with FTTH (Fibre to the Home) and FTTB (Fibre to the Building) topologies. It’s function is to connect the distribution network to the client and it may be mounted either indoors or outdoors.

MGPON

PT Inovação's solution for Optical Passive Networks is based on ITU-T G.984.x and supports triple play services (data, voice and video) provided over Ethernet and E1 interfaces. GEM (GPON Encapsulation Mode) adapts both technologies. These features, plus the support of 2,5Gbps (downstream) and 1.24Gbps (upstream), the possibility to achieve a split ratio of 1:64 over a single fiber and with a logical range of 60km, makes the GPON technology the most efficient in passive optical networks.

EMILO-NG

The EMILO-NG® systems are multiservice platforms based on the SDH transmission technology. They are made up of three types of equipment which have the following functions:

· Multiservice Switching Platform (MSSP): a system for the consolidation and organization of traffic up to STM-64;

· Multiservice Provisioning Platform (MSPP): modular system for providing the ATM, SDH, PDH and ETH interfaces up to STM-16;

· Micro MSPP: small scale MSPP type system for providing SDH, PDH and ETH interfaces up to STM-4.

MAiS

The family of equipment MAiS, based on advanced IP network processing technology, offers mobile operators a full solution that allows them to reduce RAN and core network operating costs and guarantees a return on investment within a few months. It does this by aggregating, with statistical gains, and optimising the transmission interfaces of a variety of technologies in such a way as to reduce the required bandwidth, but without loss of quality:

· Ethernet Technologies (UMTS/W-CDMA) - using IP (PWE3 Ethernet) transport. (The incorporation of lossless compression is currently under study).

· ATM Technologies (UMTS/W-CDMA) - via simple ATM switching or IP (PWE3 Ethernet) transport with removal of the ATM headers (approx. 10%). (The incorporation of lossless compression is currently under study).

· TDM Technology (GSM Abis/Ater) - through the removal of temporarily free channels followed up by lossless compression. This is particularly effective for silences and can lead to average gains of 50 to 60% on top of the gains from unused timeslots.

· ATM technologies (CDMA) - through IP transport using lossless compression giving average gains of 30%, but without traffic differentiation.

· HDLC and other technologies (CDMA, TDMA) - through the removal of idle frames and the application of lossless compression, allowing gains of up to 30%.

· PCM Technology (A/E Interfaces) - through compression of G.711 digital voice circuits into G.723.1b, or other codecs, in switch interconnections. This leads to gains of between 8 and 16 times in terms of the number of circuits that are needed.
